A traceable calibration procedure for hydrocarbon dew point chilled mirror instruments

Abstract: Current calibration procedures for hydrocarbon dew point chilled mirror instruments lack traceability. Since cross border transport of natural gas through the grids of various network operators has become general practice, the necessity for the unambiguous determination of hydrocarbon dew point of a natural gas rises. In this paper, it will be shown that the direct relationship exists between hydrocarbon dew point and liquid drop out content can be used for the calibration of hydrocarbon dew point chilled mirror instruments. For the first time it is now possible to calibrate a hydrocarbon dew point analyzer traceable using the ISO 6570 standard. After calibration and adjustment, the measured hydrocarbon dew points of the instrument will correspond to a given potential hydrocarbon liquid content (PHLC) at the same pressure. The calibration method is described in detail in ISO technical report ISO/TR 12148.The results of this work can be considered as the first step in the process towards a harmonized measuring method for the hydrocarbon dew point and thus to improved interoperability at cross border points.

Abstract: With the rapid economic development in China, the growing demand for natural gas as a clean energy, natural gas industry has gradually been going into the period of development. Many frontier technologies, such as ionic liquid technology, membrane separation, biological desulfurization, exploit a new way for the existing gas desulfurization technology, and promote existing technology development to the direction of environmental protection, refinement, science and technicalization. However, with the stimulation of the old gas well and development of the new gas fields, the variation of the raw gas components tends to be complicated. To meet the stricter environment standards and energy strategic demands of China, it is urgent to take into deep consideration about research direction and development of natural gas purification technology and strive to make technological breakthrough.

Abstract: The application of sulfur recovery catalysts CT6-4B and CT6-5B in Anqing Petrochemical Company is summarized and analyzed. Operation and calibration of the unit show that the series catalysts have good activity, thermal stability, anti-sulfation property and hydrolysis resistance aging performances, which can keep high total sulfur conversion of the sulfur recovery unit.

Research on increasing the oil yield of 1000×103 t/a FCC unit

Abstract: Aiming at the problem that the oil yield of 1000×103 t/a FCC unit is lower when the load is high, by optimizing balance catalyst activity, preheating temperature of feed oil, reaction temperature and second regeneration dense phase temperature，the effect of these parameters on the total oil yield was researched when the feed load was 3200 t/d. The results show that when the balance catalyst activity is 61, the feed preheating temperature is 195 ℃, the reaction temperature is (495±2) ℃ and the second regeneration dense phase temperature is (665±5)℃, the total oil yield reaches 88.9%，over 2.6% than non-optimum one.

Operation evaluation of Wanzhou natural gas purification plant

Abstract: Wanzhou natural gas purification plant was designed to treat high-sulfur natural gas by CPS sulfur recovery process with domestic autonomous intellectual property. So far from production, the unit has been in steady operation for more than two years. The result shows that the process design and the operation management are successful. This paper sums up the operation conditions of Wanzhou natural gas purification plant in recent years, mainly evaluates the operation conditions of desulfurization unit and sulfur-recovery unit.

Operation optimization of tail gas treatment unit in Puguang natural gas purification plant

Abstract: Aimed at the practical operation problems of tail gas treatment unit in Puguang natural gas purification plant, the lightening process of hydro-treating heater is optimized by field measurement, chemical analysis, test comparison and other analysis method. The vibration reason of tail gas incinerators is studied and a solution is introduced. After analyzing the chemical compositions of tail gas from chimney, the water content of tail gas is decreased. Excessive sulfur dioxide content of exhausted tail gas is also inhabited by taking measures. The solution of the above problems can guarantee the smooth and efficient running of tail gas treatment unit.

Experimental study of thermodynamic effects on replacement of methane hydrates by CO2

Abstract: Replacing methane with CO2 in the hydrate structure, storing CO2 and producing methane from methane hydrate reservoirs have attracted much attention of the researchers worldwide. The effects of pressure and temperature on replacement rate were investigated by measuring the change of the methane molar percentage in the gas phase. The test system was in pure water, and the replacement reaction lasted 50 hours. The experimental results show that the methane molar percentage in the gas phase at the end of replacement process is increased from the initial 1.56% to 39.74%, 41.89%, 45.45% and 48.04% respectively corresponding to the replacement temperature at 273.15 K, 274.15 K, 275.65 K and 276.15 K with the CO2 charge pressure at 2.5 MPa. On the other hand, the replacement rate respectively reach 44.87%, 45.45%, 46.66% and 47.21% corresponding to the CO2 charge pressure from 2.2 MPa to 2.5 MPa, 2.8 MPa, 3.1 MPa with the replacement temperature at 275.65 K. Therefore, it is concluded that the influence of temperature and pressure on replacement rate is positively in some ranges, but not great.

Application of ammonia or ammonium salt in the preparation of bimodal pore radius distribution silica gel

Abstract: Changing the silica gel pore structure with bimodal pore radius distribution by using ammonia or ammonium salt，the macroporous silica gel products with bimodal pore radius distribution can be gained. Whether to adding ammonia or ammonium salt or not, the amount of ammonia or ammonium salt, different adding time and reaction temperature to affect silica gel performance were investigated in this paper. The results showed that when adding ammonia or ammonium salt to the solution in the initial stage, ammonia or ammonium salt reacted with inorganic acid, formed acid salt /inorganic acid(molar ratio) = 3∶1, reaction temperature was 30 ℃, the macroporous silica gel product with bimodal pore distribution can be obtained, the pore volume was 1.65 cm3/g, pore radius was 20.00 nm and specific surface area was 340 m2/g.

Performance experimental of rotating-strip-port gas cookers under different natural gas components

Abstract: Rotating-strip-port is wildly used in gas cookers at present. 15 gas cookers of this kind of port were selected to test the performance such as efficiency and emissions under 10 different gas components. Results showed that rotating-strip-port gave no much better performance than round –port cooker, CO emissions usually were higher and tended to exceed standard with changing of gas components. However, the decrease of NOx emissions has a remarkable effect.

Abstract: Perovskite catalyst LaFeO3 for the selective oxidation of CH4 to syngas has high selectivity and methane conversion. However, the pure LaFeO3 has poor strength and very low specific surface areas. A series of perovskite catalysts were prepared by using aluminum hydroxide precursors, which was prepared by titrating aluminum nitrate solution with ammonia, then mixed with LaFeO3 and extruded by an extruder. The effects of active component content, additive, temperature on the catalyst performance were studied by means of XRD, switch reaction, pulse reaction and temperature programmed surface reaction. The results showed that mechanical strength of all the catalysts was above 200 N/cm, and these catalysts have good reactive performance.

Abstract: Aiming at the plugging of natural gas hydrate in the development of Sichuan and Chongqing gas field in winter, PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company has carried on a lot of researches on the prevention and management technology of natural gas hydrate and gained some important research results and better prevention effects. Based on the present situation of the plugging of natural gas hydrate in Sichuan and Chongqing sour gas field in winter recently, this paper analyzed and summarized the main reasons of hydrate plugging, introduced the research and application development on the prevention of natural gas hydrate and management technology such as the prediction of natural gas hydrate formation in Sichuan and Chongqing oil and gas field, the development and field application of the kinetic hydrate inhibitors, and put forward the development direction.

The lab screening of clay anti-swelling agent for water injection treatment in offshore oil field

Abstract: Based on the offshore oil field reservoir characteristics, screening clay anti-swelling agent has very important significance to control damage of reservoir water-sensitive and ensure the sustainable and efficient development of entire field. Comprehensive considering the advantages of various evaluation methods of anti-swelling agents, this experiment combined static and dynamic experimental evaluation method to screen water injection clay anti-swelling agent for an offshore oil field. For the optimized FP-3A clay anti-swelling agent with the mass percentage of l%, the anti- swelling rate of static-evaluation centrifugal method is 79.1%, 54.6% by X-ray diffraction method, 80.7% by anti-swelling dilatometer method, core linear expansion rate is 0.73%, the amount of 0.29 g per 100 g static-adsorption. The retention rate of dynamic permeability is greater than 94.74%, the best injection concentration is 0.5% to 1.0%, and the penetration rate fluctuation is small, anti-swelling effect is stable and the acting time is long, it is suitable for the development of offshore oil field.

Research and performance evaluation of a high temperature resistant foaming agent for drainage

Abstract:Taking the betaine of molecular structure containing sulfonic acid groups and longer main carbon chain as the main component, compounded with a small amount of straight chain paraffin sulphonate having synergistic active effect, a high temperature foaming agent was developed. The foaming agent can significantly reduce the surface tension and interfacial tension of the formation water, and has good surface activity being favor of foaming. The foamability, foam stability and carrying liquid ability of foaming agent are all preferable, it has good thermal stability at 150 ℃, and shows a strong resistance ability to high temperature. The lab simulation experiment device with high temperature gas well foaming agent for drainage can simulate high temperature gas well foam drainage process factually. The experiment evaluated the foam dynamic performance of foaming agent at 150℃. The simulation results show that the foaming agent still has good liquid carrying capacity at 150℃.

Abstract: Contrast to regular mud acid, foamed acid is superior in many aspects, such as slow reaction rate, tiny corrosion rate, easy to flowback, slight damage, etc., acid diversion in the heterogeneous reservoir can be realized by the use of foamed acid. It is also an ideal acid system for the stimulation of low pressure, low permeability and high water cut inhomogeneous reservoir. In this paper, taking the half-life period of the foam and the foaming volume as the main evaluation indicator, we evaluate the behavior of the addictives used in foamed acid system by stirring, and optimize the effective foamed acid system through the use of orthogonal array test method. Results show that the foamed acid has better retarded and anti-corrosive effect. The higher the foam mass is, the better the retarded and anti-corrosive effect are. Foamed acid has satisfactory diversion effect. After the simulation, permeability of the dual core increases, and the permeability differential is small.

Slight expanding cement plugging slurry system for water production casing-damaged wells in Changqing Ansai oilfield

Abstract: Aimed at the problems in conventional plugging agents used in water production casing-damaged wells in Changqing Ansai oilfield, chemical plugging performance evaluations and matching system researches of slight expansion cement were conducted. A slight expansion cement system suitable for water production casing-damaged wells was developed. Laboratory experiments show this cement system has the characteristics of easily miscibility, well stability and effectively resident in plugging zone. Its micro-expansibility after solidification is benefit for preventing water producing that caused by contraction of cement paste in later plugging stage. It provides a new inorganic chemical plugging system to solve the plugging problems of water production casing-damaged wells in Changqing Ansai oilfield.

Development and application of efficient and strong inhibitory clay stabilizer

Abstract: The core sensitivity evaluation in Yonghe natural gas exploration area of Shaanxi indicated that there exists strong water sensitivity in reservoir. The average rate of core damage is up to 61.6% by pre-liquid system. In order to prevent the reservoir core damage by the pre-liquid system, an efficient clay stabilizer NT-2 was prepared. The performances of anti-swelling, anti-immersing and anti-eroding of the clay stabilizer were evaluated by contrast. The results show that these performances are excellent, and the rheological behavior of the fracturing fluid system is not affected by the clay stabilizer, the damage rate of reservoir core by fracturing fluid is reduced. After application of the clay stabilizer on the spot, the production of gas is increased by 3.4 times.

Multifunctional activated acidizing working fluid system for low permeability and low-pressure reservoir

Abstract: Due to the problems that acidizing working fluid has high corrosion ratio, small acidification radius and no effect on organic scale by using conventional acidification technology during the injection of low permeability and low-pressure reservoir, a new multifunctional activated acidizing working fluid was developed. Through optimization and compound of the acid system treatment agent， multifunctional activated acid system formula was obtained: SZJ 20%+SFJ 6.7%+HCl 10%+ZRJ 2.5%+scale-dissolving agent 5.0%+water. The acid system has a good retarded effect, dissolution capacity, and good solubilization capability for organic scale in formation at 45 ℃, moreover, it has excellent corrosion inhibition and anti-swelling capacity. The corrosion rate is less than 2.5 mg/(m2·h) and the anti-swelling rate of the working system before and after acidification is larger than 90% and 85%, respectively.

Inspection and analysis of anticorrosion coatings of surface transport pipeline in Changqing gas field

Abstract: To mastering the corrosion status of surface transport pipeline in Changqing gas field, anticorrosion coating of 12 pipelines were inspected by pipeline current map (PCM) and excavation in recent years. It was found that the proportion of coating appearance in good condition account for 90.4%, the proportions of coating appearance with little damage and seriously damaged account for 5.2% and 4.4% respectively. On this basis, the main reasons of unqualified anticorrosion layer were analyzed. The proposals of anticorrosion design were put forward in the future gas field, including optimal selection of anticorrosion materials, strict implementation of the technical requirements of anticorrosion coating construction, strengthen construction management of party B, to ensure the anticorrosion effectiveness of pipeline.

Comparison of four analytical methods of water content in natural gas

Abstract: The four analytical methods of water content determination in natural gas, such as Laser method, capacitance method, fiber-optic method and quartz- crystal oscillation method, are worth promoting in natural gas industry due to simple operation and maintenance. These methods are about to be implemented as the standard to determine water content in natural gas in China. In order to guide the user of those methods to operate correctly, the comparison research about the operation characteristics of the four methods are taken by experiment. The research content includes the factors of affect method accuracy, stability, and detecting speed. The research results show that the main factors affecting method accuracy are test temperature, pressure and gas flow, etc., and the accuracy of the fiber-optic method is also related to the carbon dioxide content. The capacitance method is poor in stability, so it needs for frequent calibration. As inadequate measurement time will produce inaccurate measurement results, the appropriate measurement time of these methods should be determined by respective detecting speed.

Abstract: At present, a majority of corrosion inhibitors applying in oilfield mainly consist of organic amine compounds. In order to understand and control the organic amine content of corrosion inhibitors and give full play to corrosion inhibitors effect, it is very important to determine accurately the organic amine content of corrosion inhibitors. In this paper, the amine value of three organic corrosion inhibitors with hydrochloric and ethanol method, high chlorine acid non-aqueous titration method by different acid-base indicators and solvents were contrastively analyzed. The experimental results show that titration end-point change is acute, accurate, and fast with appropriate addition amount of corrosion inhibitor.

Abstract：This paper introduces the verification principle, structure composition and the technical characteristics of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) dispensers verification device based on standard meter method, analyzes and evaluates its uncertainty of measurement results .The results show that the device can completely meet specified requirements of JJG 997-2005. The LPG dispenser verification device can not only be a powerful detection means for fair trade settlement of LPG, but also be a high quality and high level for metrological verification, quality supervision, technology assessment and legal management of LPG dispensers.

Flocculating effect of microbial flocculant in the ASP produced water

Abstract: A microbial flocculant producing strain named WZ with good flocculation effect to ASP produced water was screened out from ASP produced water. We detected and accomplished the sequence analysis of 16S rDNA for strain WZ and studied flocculating effects when putting metabolite produced by WZ strain into ASP produced water, analyzed main active ingredients in WZ flocculant. The results illustrate that WZ strain belongs to Pantoea Agglomerans and the flocculant produced by WZ strain are mainly distributed in the supernatant of fermented liquid through centrifuged. The flocculating effect on ASP produced water is the best under the conditions that WZ strain is placed in a shaker to cultivate for 29 h at 35 ℃ and 170 r/min. The optimum addition volume of the microbial flocculant is 25 mL/L and the removal rate of suspended solids can reach47.76%. By approaches of Anthrone colorimetric, Bradford method and infrared spectrum analysis, it is concluded that the main ingredient in the microbial flocculant is glycosidoprotein.

Experimental study and field application of solid-liquid separation of drilling waste fluid in Xinjiang oil field

Abstract: Based on the waste drilling fluid from PetroChina Xinjiang oilfield, a chemical destabilization agent was prepared to treat with the waste drilling fluid for gel breaking destabilization, and the pharmaceutical formulations were determined for solid-liquid separation and water treatment. A set of drilling processing equipment with belt type filter press as the core was developed, and the field application experiment was conducted in Sinopec Southwest Company and PetroChina Xinjiang oil field. Results show that the waste water can be discharged locally after meeting the related national standards, and the soaked fluid isolated from the dry mud cake can reach the related national standards, the processing cost is less than RMB 50 yuan/m3. The drilling processing technology and equipment have the advantages of simple operation and low processing cost, therefore, it has the value of application.

The system construction is optimized and the system function design is suitable for the requirement of the energy efficiency benchmarking system.

Removing hydrogen sulfide of crude sewage and keeping viscosity of polymer solution prepared by crude sewage

Abstract：The problem of heavy loss of polymer solution viscosity because of hydrogen sulfide in crude sewage was studied. By optimizing hydraulic retention time and air/water ratio of air oxidation method, hydrogen sulfide was removed thoroughly and viscosity of polymer solution（the concentration was 1700 mg/L）was increased from 5 mPa·s to 30 mPa·s, and it had high thermal stability, which met the design requirement of polymer-surfactant displacement method. Meanwhile, the viscosity of polymer solution prepared by sewage after desulphurization processing（both mother liquid and dilution prepared by sewage）could reach more than 30 mPa·s, so a great quantity of freshwater and production cost could be saved.
