Abstract: During gas treating, alcohol amine solution are degraded as the existent of the impurities in gas. The main degradation products are heat stable salts(HSS).The degradation of amine solution leads to the decrease of desulfurization capacity and removal efficiency. As the content of heat stable salts is increasing, it may lead to foam and loss of solution. Meanwhile, as some of the heat stable salts are acidic, they may lead to corrosion and blockage in pipes and equipments. It is important to revive the amine solution to eliminate the degradation products. The degradation process of amine solution and the formation process of heat stable salts and its main influences are introduced. Reviews of several revival processes of alcohol amine desulfurization solution are presented.
