Abstract: Application of pomegranate husk extract in the treatment of oilfield produced water was carried out based on the abundant fruits resource of Shaanxi province. Pomegranate husk was extracted with ethanol, and the extract was screened as corrosion and bacteria inhibitors. The results show that the extract is effective for corrosion inhibiting. The polarization curve showed that extract was a mixing type inhibitor. The extract is active against sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB), but inefficient against iron bacteria (FB) and total general bacteria (TGB).
