Abstract:
Large quantity of effluents containing oil, water and complicated pollutants produced from the refinery process do extremely harm to our environment. The aim of our study is to investigate membrane technology (ultra-filtration and reverse osmosis) for petrochemical wastewater treatment and recycles. The treated water could be recycled as compensative water for boilers and other utilizations. The experiment results show that the percentage removal of COD, NH
3-N and petroleum oil can achieve over 90% by this process; after ultra-filtration, the suspended solid can be decreased to less than 1 mg/L; and the quality of treated water reaches the standard of petrochemical industry discharge and utilization.
