Abstract: Wet gas wildly exists in natural gas industry. The online metering of wet gas flow is of great significance to reduce the investment and operation cost of oil and gas field, and improve the production efficiency and the level of scientific management. In the last decade, the wet gas online metering technologies have advanced considerably, and many wet gas flow meters with diverse metering principles have appeared. This paper briefly introduces the current situation and technical needs of wet gas measurement in PetroChina, and analyzes the metering principles of current wet gas flow meters. The laboratory test results and filed application of wet gas flow meters are analyzed in detail, and the technical difficulties in the field application of wet gas flow meters are summarized. In order to improve the popularization and application of wet gas flow meters, it is recommended that the further wet gas flow meter testing and field application to be conducted to study the operating range of wet gas flow meters and its adaptability for long-term use, to establish the standard test method and access criteria to regulate the use and maintenance of wet gas flow meter.
