Abstract:
In the process of shale gas exploiting, sand is carried to the downstream. Sand desander is used to remove sand particles to ensure the safety of production equipment. However, there has no mature method to evaluate the effect of sand desander. In this paper, an acoustic method of sand monitoring add off-line sand sampling analysis are proposed to evaluate the performance of shale gas desander by calculating the average desanding efficiency and the removal effeciency of sand particles which was bigger than 15 μm. Comparing with the acoustic monitoring data and the off-line sampling data, the results showed that the error of desander efficiency tested by acoustic monitoring is under 30%. It can provide a reference for the performance evaluation and daily production management of shale gas desander.
