Abstract:
Objective With the official release of the GB 39728-2020 Emission standard of air pollutants for onshore oil and gas exploitation and production industry, the tail gas treatment unit must be added to the Claus and its extended sulfur recovery process of natural gas purification unit to meet the requirements of emission standards. By exploring the adjustment method of adding tail gas treatment process operation process, the influence on the operation of purification plant was reduced to realize the tail gas up-to-standard emission.
Methods Through the comparative analysis of the influence of system back pressure, treatment load and the operation of public auxiliary device of sulfur recovery unit before and after the operation of the additional tail gas treatment unit, the influences of the start-up and shutdown of the sulfur recovery unit were emphatically expounded. The increased production cost of new tail gas treatment unit on natural gas purification plant was counted to guide and adjust the unit operation.
Results After adding tail gas treatment process, the SO2 emission concentration in tail gas was greatly reduced, which can fully meet the requirements of emission standards. The problem of high SO2 emission concentration in tail gas during the start-up and shutdown of sulfur recovery unit was effectively solved.
Conclusions Through statistical analysis of the impact of adding tail gas treatment process on the production and operation of natural gas purification plants, the experience is summarized for the application of tail gas treatment process in natural gas purification plants, so that the units can achieve efficient, environmentally friendly and stable operation.
