Abstract:
Objective In order to confirm the applicability of existing analysis and testing standards for hydrogen-blended natural gas with high hydrogen content, it is necessary to carry out a study on the analytical method of hydrogen-blended natural gas.
Method Gas chromatography was employed to analyze the composition of hydrogen-blended natural gas. The analytical method was optimized by reducing the sample loop size, refining heating procedures, and adjusting valve switching time.
Result The resolution of hydrogen and helium, the accuracy and precision of the method meet the requirements of GB/T 13610—2020 Analysis of natural gas composition—Gas chromatography. The gas chromatograph exhibited a linear response over the range of hydrogen molar fraction from 3.01% to 25.50%. It is also clear that the uncertainty introduced by the standard gas itself is essential to assess the uncertainty of the sample gas.
Conclusion The study validates the reliability of monitoring and accurately measuring hydrogen-blended natural gas quality and establishes a foundation for advancing analytical technologies in transportation.
