Abstract:
Objective In order to ensure the use reliability of aircraft jet fuel, this study investigates the effect and its influencing rules of different contents of anti-ice agent on the main usability indexes of jet fuel based on glycol methyl ether as the anti-ice agent for jet fuel
Method Based on the ethylene glycol methyl ether used for jet fuel as anti-ice agent, specific influencing laws were obtained by studying the correlation between the detection results of jet fuel usability indexes and the corresponding anti-ice agent content, combined with theoretical analysis.
Result The experimental results showed that the flash point and initial boiling point of jet fuel decrease with the increasing addition of anti-ice agent. On the contrary, the density of jet fuel increased and water reaction test rating improved with the increasing addition of anti-ice agent. The influence on the flash point and water reaction test are more obvious. The other indexes have hardly changed.
Conclusion With the increasing addition of anti-ice agent increases, density has a positive response, while the flash point and initial boiling point have a negative response as long as the addition of anti-icing agent in jet fuel fits the requirement. In order to ensure the use reliability of jet fuel, the addition of anti-ice agents should be strictly controlled, especially not overdosed.
