Abstract:
Objective In view of the gradual decrease of the yield in a long-period oil and gas processing plant, the impact of the declining yield on the total-site energy system should be analyzed during the energy-saving retrofit to ensure the long-term effectiveness of the schemes.
Method In this study, several operating conditions of the plant had been simulated, pinch analysis method and exergy analysis method were adopted for the optimization of the total-site energy system.
Result The major heat loaded across the pinch of the whole plant were indicated by pinch analysis, and the exergy loss distribution of units was obtained by the exergy analysis method. Four energy saving optimization schemes were proposed based on the above analysis results.
Conclusion With the decline of the flow rate of raw materials, the energy savings of the heat exchange network scheme, the steam system retrofit scheme, and the hydro turbine scheme decrease to different degrees, while the energy saving of the coupling scheme of heat exchange network and absorption heat pump rectification can remain stable.
