Abstract:
Objective To verify whether the existing natural gas sampling methods are suitable for hydrogen-blended natural gas, this study conducted an adaptability investigation on hydrogen-blended natural gas sampling technology.
Method Various cylinders of different materials and different sampling methods were employed for sampling and analysis of hydrogen-blended natural gas, complemented by long-term stability experiments and practical applications in real hydrogen-blended natural gas pipelines.
Result The experiments demonstrated that both the gas filling and venting method and the controlled flow rate method exhibit satisfactory representativeness for sampling hydrogen-blended natural gas with various hydrogen mole fractions. Stainless steel and aluminium alloy sampling cylinders showed excellent gas tightness and stable sample storage performance, proving their applicability for hydrogen-blended natural gas sampling.
Conclusion This study provides technical support for sampling and analysis of hydrogen-blended natural gas systems.
