Abstract:
Objective There is a potential demand for the custody transfer of high-sulfur natural gas. To ensure the accuracy of trade settlement, it is necessary to measure the composition of natural gas online. The existing online measurements are primarily designed for pipeline natural gas and are not suitable for high-sulfur raw natural gas. Therefore, this study focuses on the selection and adaptability of on-line analyzers for high-sulfur natural gas.
Method Through comparative analysis of different methods, an online analytical method and instrument suitable for high-sulfur natural gas were identified. The effectiveness, repeatability, accuracy, and field adaptability of the selected method and instrument were evaluated using standard gases, different methods, or different instruments.
Result The selected online gas chromatograph can accurately measure the composition of high-sulfur natural gas. Its repeatability and accuracy fully meet the requirements of GB/T 13610—2020 Analysis of natural gas composition—gas chromatography, and its short-term and long-term stability meet the stability index requirement of ≤3.0% specified in JJG 1055—2009 Online gas chromatograph.
Conclusion The selected online gas chromatograph, which is suitable for measuring high-sulfur natural gas, provides fundamental data and technical support for its custody transfer and subsequent processing. It also offers a reference for the selection of online analytical instruments for high-sulfur natural gas.
