Production of Propylene from C4 Olefins by Catalytic Cracking

  • HZSM-5 zeolite modified by Ce and La was studied on performance of production of propylene and ethylene from C4 olefins by catalytic cracking in the fixed-bed reactor at atmospheric pressure, and catalyst was characterized by the S-BET and XRD. In this paper, a detailed study was done about effects of the reaction temperature, Si-Al ratio and the stability of catalyst and so on. The results showed that properties of the modified catalytic cracking catalysts are better than non-modified catalyst, and the catalyst modified by Ce has a better catalytic performance. The optimal reaction temperature is 480℃, and the volume of propylene reaches 29.8% of the gas after reaction.
