Process Simulation and Parameter Analysis of Separating Oxylene-Styrene by Extractive Distillation with the Mixed Solvent

  • According to the vapor-liquid equilibrium, the single solvent sulfolane, the mixed solvent sulfolane-NMP and the best proportion of the mixed solvent separating oxylene-styrene by extractive distillation were determined. On that basis, the separation process was simulated by Aspen plus. The influences of several parameters such as solvent/feed ratio, reflux ratio, theoretical tray number and feeding stages of solvent and raw solution on the separation process were studied. The suitable process parameters were obtained which can be used to provide basic data for process design and development.
