Hematite Nanowire Arrays on Pure Iron Sheet by in situ Anodization Process and Its Wettability

  • The hematite nanowire arrays (HNA) on pure iron sheet was in situ prepared by anodization process, characterized by SEM, XRD and XPS, and its wettability was also investigated by static contact angle tests. The results showed that the HNA with super-hydrophilicity can be generated on the surface of iron sheet both by anodization and calcination. Contrasting to the latter, the former process can construct HNA with crowded wire concentration and stable nano-structure, which result in the long life of the super-hydrophilicity of anodized HNA, more than 72 hours.
