Safety interlocking characteristics of FCC gasoline etherification unit

  • The foreign process technology is introduced to build a new FCC gasoline etherification unit in a refinery. The process flow and safety interlocking scheme have some special characteristics compared to the other etherification units. Important safety interlocking systems of the unit are introduced and discussed, including the normal hydrocarbon inventory isolation interlocking, the heater interlocking, the compressor interlocking and the pump interlocking. Meanwhile, the special interlockings of the unit are described, including the hydrogenation column interlocking, the etherification reactor and isomerization reactor interlockings. These safety interlockings are important to the design and safe operation of the FCC gasoline etherification unit, which can avoid the potential danger in the process.
