Performance studies on new sulfur solvent containing amine for high-sulfur gas well: Dissolving sulfur rule and regeneration property(Ⅰ)

  • Aiming at the blocking and serious corrosion caused by sulfur deposition in high-sulfur gas wells, a new sulfur solvent containing amine was developed, which composed of organic amine as promoter, physical solvent as assistant and a series of agents such as emulsifier, sulfide catalyst and surfactant. Properties of dissolving sulfur and separation recovery performance of elemental sulfur after soluble sulfur were evaluated and studied. Test results show that sulfur dissolving process is quickly by using the new amine sulfur solvent, mainly finishing in 30 minutes, and total dissolved solids (TDS) is 59.45 g/100 mL. It is beneficial to increase TDS with elevated temperature, H2S content in the sulfur dissolving environment and powdery elemental sulfur. When the amount of water is 10%, the retention rate of TDS is 74.27%. The elemental sulfur is able to separate out for recycling through adding water to the amine solvent with dissolved sulfur. What is more, the recovery rate of elemental sulfur is 34.32%, when the content of adding water is 900 mL.
