Research on corrosion monitoring technology of high sulfur long distance pipeline

  • The pipeline corrosion is a very prominent problem in the development process of high sulfur gas field. Especially for the long distance wet gas pipeline, the corrosion degree of different pipe sections has very big discrepancy. It is very difficult to obtain the true situation of pipeline corrosion comprehensively and effectively only by setting the corrosion monitoring points at the beginning and the end of the pipeline. In this paper, the main factors affecting the pipeline corrosion are studied through the simulation analysis of the fluid characteristics of Tiangao B section pipeline, and the sites of serious corrosion of the pipeline are determined, which provide the basis for selecting the corrosion monitoring method and setting the location. Through the comparison of non- inserted on-line corrosion monitoring technologies used in oil and gas fields, ultrasonic guided wave monitoring technology is added in the corrosion monitoring system in this experiment. After a year of corrosion monitoring test, the results show that the improved on-line corrosion monitoring system makes corrosion monitoring information more comprehensive and effective.
