Study on the applicable conditions of epoxy inner coating in the gathering and transportation pipeline of sour gas field

  • In order to explore the influence of various corrosion factors on the key performance indicators of epoxy anti-corrosion inner coating in gathering pipeline of sour gas field, and determine the applicable conditions of inner coating in the gathering pipeline of sour gas field, immersion experiments of coating samples are carried out with simulated different working conditions by a dynamic high temperature autoclave in the laboratory. The thickness, adhesion, insulation performance and surface morphology of epoxy coating are measured by coating thickness tester, coating adhesion tester and insulation resistance tester before and after, and then the influence of different corrosion factors on the key performance indicators of epoxy coating are explored. The experiments show that epoxy anti-corrosion inner coating has certain adaptability in corrosive environment including hydrogen sulfide concentration is lower than 20 g/m3, carbon dioxide concentration is lower than 100 g/m3 and liquid flow rate is lower than 2 m/s. The key performance indicators (thickness, insulation resistance, etc.) of the coating do not change significantly. The epoxy inner coating can preliminary apply in the gathering pipeline ofsour gasfield.
