Research on organic sulfide removal solvent from hydrogenation tail gas of sulfur recovery unit in refinery

  • In order to meet the stricter requirements of GB 31570-2015 Emission Standard of Pollutants for Petroleum Refining Industry about SO2 emission from tail gas of sulfur recovery unit in refinery, the formula desulfurizing solvent with good removal performance for COS and H2S was developed through laboratory experiments. The effects of MDEA mass fraction and COS mass concentration etc. on the removal of organic sulfur were investigated. The results showed that the COS removal rate of hydrogenation tail gas of sulfur recovery unit in refinery could be more than 45% and the H2S mass concentration could be less than 10 mg/m3 by using the selected formula desulfurizing solvent, which could meet the ultra-low emission requirements of tail gas from sulfur recovery unit in refinery.
