Application of gas chromatography with micro thermal conductivity detector in determination of total sulfur content in natural gas
-
Abstract
A method for the determination of total sulfur content in natural gas by gas chromatography with micro thermal conductivity detector was established. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the reliability of the method was evaluated, and the effectiveness, repeatability, accuracy of the analysis method and the influence of hydrocarbon components on the target were discussed. The qualitative repeatability (relative standard deviation of retention time of chromatographic peak) was less than 0.3%, and quantitative repeatability (relative standard deviation of measurement results) was less than 2%, and the analysis deviation of accuracy is less than 5%. The comparison results of different measurement methods meet the requirements of reproducibility limit in the arbitration standard for determination of total sulfur in GB/T 11060.8-2020. Compared with the conventional gas chromatograph, gas chromatography has the advantages of high sensitivity, short analysis period, simple operation and low operation cost. It is easy to realize on-line detection. When butane and above components are not contained in the gas components, this method has obvious advantages.
