Performance evaluation of regenerated catalyst in diesel hydro-upgrading unit

  • Objective The aim is to evaluate the performance of the regenerated catalyst in a diesel hydro-upgrading unit and to confirm whether it meets the production requirements.
Method The performance of the regenerated catalyst was evaluated by comparing the loading data before and after catalyst regeneration, activity loss evaluation, selectivity analysis, product quality and distribution, and energy consumption change of the unit.
Result The evaluation results showed that the average refining temperature increased by 3 ℃, and the average cracking temperature increased by 11 ℃. The regenerated catalyst exhibited minimal activity loss. The yield of C5+ components reached 98.04%, the chemical hydrogen consumption was 2.1%, and the catalyst selectivity was good. The yields of target products were as follows: The target product yield of heavy naphtha was 27.2%, the yield of No.3 jet fuel was 18.7%, and the yield of diesel was 47.0%. The aromatic potential of heavy naphtha was 56.7%, the smoke point of No.3 jet fuel was 22.1 mm, and the cetane number of diesel was 61.2, which was 20.7 units higher than that of raw materials. And the product quality was excellent.
Conclusion The distribution and key property indexes of each product after catalyst regeneration meet the design indexes, and the performance of regenerated catalyst can meet the requirements of actual production and long-term operation of the unit.
